What is our #1 callback with our clients?

Since we started in business over 25 years ago, the #1 cause of callbacks has consistently been damage that occurs during furniture or appliance deliveries and moves.

Even today, we receive 4–5 calls each month related to these situations—either from our clients or the delivery vendors themselves.

The key to preventing this? Take control upfront.

Make it clear to your delivery team how important it is to properly protect your wood floors. Unfortunately, floor protection is often not their top priority.

We strongly recommend using protective materials such as FloorShell or Ram Board—both are durable, impact- and chemical-resistant products designed specifically to help prevent damage. Even simple cardboard can provide a layer of protection and reduce risk.

A common misconception is that wood floors are tough enough to withstand heavy traffic, sliding furniture, or appliance movement without issue. This is not the case. Wood flooring can scratch, dent, or gouge—especially under heavy weight or improper handling.

This becomes even more critical in open-concept homes, where flooring runs continuously between rooms without natural stopping points. In these cases, damage in one area can affect a much larger section of the home. If severe enough, repairs may require recoating or even full refinishing to restore a consistent appearance.

Bottom line: Protect your floors before the delivery begins—not after the damage is done.

Stay proactive and vigilant to preserve the beauty and longevity of your wood floors.
